The papers contain manuscripts, proofs, and printed versions for a number of short stories, a television script, an article re Jay Craven, and a double interview between Beattie and Mary Lee Settle re Key West. There are also articles and miscellaneous material re her professional correspondence, a photograph, a screen adaptation by Alan Kingsberg of a Beattie short story, some children's drawings, and a recording of Beattie reading "Falling in place" for the American Foundation for the Blind.
